The Columbus Middle School football team received a big surprise today.
Volunteers from the community, CMSD alumni, and coaches have been working hard to revamp the team's weight room. New paint, improved weight-lifting equipment, and workout jerseys were presented to the student-athletes.
A group of community members and alumni joined together in a Facebook group, "Birds of Feather" to spearhead the improvement campaign and get others involved.
Coaches went over expectations for the team and explained how they can help building a legacy, but the work must first start in the weight room.
