Grade Span meetings with parents begin soon. February 17th at Cook Elementary, March 3rd at Sale Elementary, and March 24th at Stokes-Beard Elementary. All meetings begin at 5 PM.

Three Columbus High Falcon football players sign letters of intent to play college football.
Cameron Mitchell, a one-year starter at CHS, graduated in December and is enrolled at Hinds Community College. He played wide receiver and cornerback at CHS.
Dkyren Henderson, a four-year starter at CHS, signed to play at Huntingdon College. He played quarterback at CHS.
Aiden Poindexter, a four-year started at CHS, signed to play at Huntingdon College. He played defensive line and outside linebacker at CHS.

The Columbus Municipal School District will be closed Monday in observance of Presidents' Day.

The Columbus Middle School basketball team is celebrated for its 14-4 season that was cut short by winter weather. The team won its first playoff game under Coach Allen Lewis in the MHSAA Middle School Invitational. The tournament was cancelled last week by MHSAA after winter weather devastated parts of the state. CMS staff served the team a celebratory dinner on Friday.

Thank you to Columbus Mayor Stephen Jones for delivering school supplies to Stokes-Beard Elementary School on Monday morning. The supplies were donated by the group "C City Networking."

Sale Elementary hosted "Donuts with Dads and Dudes" this morning.
Students, along with parents/guardians learned about the importance of literacy and how absenteeism can impact grades.
United Faith Center FGBC Overseer Bennie Coleman was the guest speaker. He talked to dads about "The power of showing up. "


The Columbus Municipal School District continues to send its condolences to the family of Braylan Dale. His funeral will be at Columbus High on Saturday at 2:30 PM.
