CHS VS Holmes County Central tonight at 8 PM at the Mississippi Coliseum in Jackson for the state championship.
CMSD Superintendent Mr. Craig Chapman continued his "Superintendent's Student Council" meetings with students across the district over the past two weeks. This allows students to speak to the Mr. Chapman about concerns, questions, or things they like about their schools.

Spring Break Reminder. Intersession is next week. Spring Break is March 16-20. Students return on March 23rd. Have a safe and FUN break!

Our city leaders have been so supportive and gracious with their time this week to help our students understand the importance of reading and showing them that reading is fun!
Here, Councilman Smith went back to his old elementary school, Cook Elementary, to read to students.
Thank you to the others that have also read to our students this week.

It's game day! CHS takes on Natchez High School in the MHSAA Final 4 for Class 5A. The game starts at noon.
It was an exciting day at Columbus High! #adulting
Thank you to Delta Sigma Theta for hosting a voter registration drive.
CHS students were also able to take the time to register to take the ACT, apply for financial aid, and apply to college.

Cook Elementary is having a fun and unique Accelerated Reading (AR) Challenge
Who will Win!
Each week, students read books and take AR tests. On Friday of each week, several students' names are pulled from the collection of classroom tickets. Weekly winners earn prizes from the office store.
At the end of each month, five students' name will be drawn to win $10.00 each. The homeroom teacher of each student will win $10.00 as well. Teachers win each time their students win. There is no limit.

Congratulations to our SRO's! Assistant Chief Juvante Burks, Sr., Jesse Anderson, and Lexus Ware completed crisis intervention training at Community Counseling in West Point.
The CMSD officers were given a Mississippi Crisis Intervention Team pin after the week-long training.
This is another way CMSD works to create a safe learning environment for every child.
