COLUMBUS, Miss. (CMSD) - “Dudes and Donuts” returned to Stokes Beard Elementary School on Friday.
The event, sponsored by the Stokes Beard Elementary PTO, is geared toward bringing fathers and father figures into the fold to help teachers and administrators give students the best educational foundation possible.
“Fathers bring a different perspective to a child’s educational journey. We are thrilled at the turnout and response from hundreds of fathers, father figures, and mentors of the students here at Stokes Beard,” said Principal Martisa Francois.
The men and the 432 students were treated to a donut and water. Meanwhile, the kids dressed to impress for the event.
“We want dad’s involved in learning and giving back to the school,” said Stokes Beard Elementary PTO President Ebonie Lang.
The “Dudes and Donuts” event was split up by grade.
This is the second time the SBE PTO has hosted the event at the school.
