Columbus High dual enrollment students celebrate being first generation college students at Mississippi University for Women's campus

Earlier this month, Mississippi University for Women celebrated first-generation college students. This celebration included more than 15 Columbus High School seniors! With our dual enrollment program, eligible CHS students can get a head start by taking college courses along with their high school schedules. We have more than 35 seniors in dual enrollment who are first-generation students. HUGE shout out to MUW for recognizing this amazing milestone with our student body.

We currently have 127 students enrolled in 886 college hours. We also have nine seniors on track to receive an associate's degree before their high school graduation.

"Do the best that you possibly can," Keynote speaker Laverne Greene-Leech said. "Students, continue to do what you're doing, continue to make us all proud."
