COLUMBUS, Miss. (CMSD) - As the 2025-26 is winding down, the Columbus Municipal School District is looking forward to the next academic year.
The first day of school is July 23, 2026.
All CMSD returning students must register for the 2026-2027 school year.
The registration process has started. You can first start by clicking "Registration" on the home page of the school district's website.
Parents and guardians can find a detailed list of what to do and what to expect below.
Online Registration is OPEN!
Sign in to your PowerSchool Parent Portal to access your child's link by clicking CMSD Student Registration 2026-2027 at the bottom-left of the navigation bar.
Each of our returning students will see their existing information. Change and add as necessary. SAVE the form to return later or SUBMIT the form when complete. Once the school has reviewed and approved your registration information, you will receive another email showing you that your child has successfully registered for the 2026-2027 School Year.
How do I get started?
Click PowerSchool Parent Portal or navigate to cmsd.powerschool.com to login.
From the Parent Portal:
Select the student you wish to register along the top. Each of your children will have their own tab.
Click the CMSD Student Registration Icon on the left side
Agree to the terms and conditions
Select Begin Forms
If you do not yet have a PowerSchool Parent Portal account, you will need to click the CREATE ACCOUNT tab. If you do not have an existing account, you must obtain your student's Access ID and Password to link them to your Parent Portal. Please contact your child's school.
Parents of NEW Students register through PowerSchool enrollment by clicking the form link on the website.
Pre-Kindergarten registration for 2026-2027 is closed, and parents will be notified soon.
