2026-2027 New Student Registration Form

• Kindergarten students must turn 5 years old ON or BEFORE September 1.

• First Grade students must turn 6 years old ON or BEFORE September 1.

• REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

  • Certified Birth Certificate

  • Mississippi Immunization Record (MS Form 121)
    Out of state immunizations must be transferred to Mississippi Form 121.

  • Parent / Guardian Photo ID

  • Two (2) Proofs of Residency - See Acceptable Proofs of Residency below.

How to Register Your Child

1. Log In or Create an Account Visit our district’s PowerSchool Parent Portal and sign in.

    

2. Select Your Student If you have multiple children, their names will appear in the top-left tabs.
   Click on the name of the child you wish to register first.
   To add a child, go to Account Preferences > Students > Add.

   
   You will need the unique

   Access ID and Access Password provided from your child's school.

3. Find the Registration Forms On the left-hand navigation menu, click on "CMSD Student Registration."

4. Update and Submit Review your contact information, emergency contacts, and health details.
   Once everything is accurate, click "Submit" at the bottom of the form.

   Note: You must complete this process separately for each child enrolled in the district.

If you’ve forgotten your login credentials or haven't received your Access ID, please click the Forgot Password link or contact your school's front office for assistance.

**If the student did not finish the 2025-2026 school year with us, please complete the NEW student registration form. See the NEW TO THE DISTRICT section for the link to the correct form.**

• REQUIRED DOCUMENTS (If these documents are uploaded to your online application, you do not need to attend In-Person Registration.)

  • Two (2) Proofs of Residency - See Acceptable Proofs of Residency below.

  • Mississippi Immunization Record (MS Form 121) for incoming 7th graders only

If you will begin the 2026-2027 school year at Columbus Success Academy, please register online with your regular school first.

• Two Proofs of Residency

  • Each student is required to provide 2 proofs of residency.

• Required forms for new students

  • Birth Certificate

  • Shot Record

  • Withdrawal form from previous school (if applicable)

  • Last Report Card (if applicable)

• After completing your registration forms, you may be contacted to verify information.

• If you are unable to complete the online registration forms, please contact your school.

One current utility bill (must be within the past 30 days)

• Cable

• Gas

• Landline phone/Internet

AND

One of the following:

• Homestead Exemption

• Mortgage or Lease Agreement

• Current Driver's License or State ID or Voter Registration Card

• Vehicle Registration

*If you’re experiencing issues, check the following scenarios below and click the links provided for additional instructions or videos.

• If you currently have a student enrolled in the district, to complete your online registration form for a NEW STUDENT, you may log into your current PowerSchool Parent Portal at https://cmsd.powerschool.com/public and add a new student to your student registration account. For additional instructions on how to add a new student (that is not currently enrolled) to your current PowerSchool Parent Portal account, click HERE. 

• If you have a student who is currently enrolled but would like to register a NEW STUDENT and have forgotten your password and cannot access your current Parent Portal account, select “Forgot Username or Password?”, and follow the prompts. If you are still unable to access your account, please contact your child's school to assist you. See contact list below for each school.  

• If you do not have an account or any students currently enrolled, you will need to create a PowerSchool Enrollment Registration account to complete registration 
  requirements. *This is a PowerSchool Registration account, NOT a PowerSchool Parent Portal account (*which is often used to check student grades, attendance and registration for returning students).   • Yes, you can use your phone, tablet, laptop, or desktop computer to complete your child's online registration form.

• Pre-Kindergarten students must turn 4 years old ON or BEFORE September 1.

   

Pre-Kindergarten registration window opens Thursday, February 12, 2026, and closes Thursday, February 19, 2026.

All Pre-Kindergarten students will attend Stokes Beard Elementary School 311 Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive, Columbus, MS 39701

Pre-Kindergarten students are NOT eligible to ride the school bus. They must be dropped off and picked up each day.

All required documents and the online application must be submitted before a student may enter the Pre-K lottery.

Submitting an application does NOT guarantee a Pre-Kindergarten seat.

Computers and Wi-Fi access are available during In-Person Registration at Brandon Central Services Center - 2630 McArthur Drive, Columbus, MS 39705
