Lottery Registration (PreK-4) closes May 31, 2023.
Online Registration begins on June 19, 2023 at 8 AM.
For students to attend class on the first day of school (July 27, 2023), students must have completed registration by July 20, 2023.
*NOTE: Students that wait to register online between July 24-28, will be able to attend school starting July 31st.
NEW ELEMENTARY STUDENTS (GRADES PK THROUGH 5)
If you are new to the district and registering for grades Pre-Kindergarten through 5,
- Create a PowerSchool Enrollment Account.
- Complete the Elementary School Choice form.
- Rank the 5 elementary magnet schools in order of preference.
- Receive placement notification through your email account.
- Receive Snap Code and link to CMSD Student Registration form via your email account to complete the registration process.
- The Snap Code is a unique code that provides an extra level of security to guarantee only you have the ability to register the student.
NEW MIDDLE SCHOOL AND HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS (GRADES 6 THROUGH 12)
If you are new to the district and registering for grades 6 through 12,
RETURNING STUDENTS REGISTRATION / REENROLLMENT
If you are registering a student that attended the Columbus Municipal School District in the 2022-2023 School Year,
- Login to PowerSchool SIS Parent Portal
- If you do not have an account, you must create a Parent Portal account
- To create the account, you will need an Access ID and Access Password. Contact your school to receive this information.
- The Access ID and Access Password are unique codes that provide an extra layer of security to make sure only the listed student contacts have access to student records.
- Click the "CMSD Student Registration 2023-2024" button on the bottom left of the screen.
- Complete all required forms.
If the student has attended CMSD before but did not finish school with us in the 2022-2023 school year, please complete the new student registration forms.

- If you currently have a student enrolled in the district, to complete your online
registration form for a NEW STUDENT, you may log into your current
PowerSchool Parent Portal at https://cmsd.powerschool.com/public and add a
new student to your student registration account. For additional instructions on
how to add a new student (that is not currently enrolled) to your current
PowerSchool Parent Portal account, click HERE.
- If you have a student who is currently enrolled but would like to register a NEW
STUDENT and have forgotten your password and cannot access your current
Parent Portal account, select “Forgot Username or Password?”, and follow the
prompts. If you are still unable to access your account, please contact your
child's school to assist you. See contact list below for each school.
- If you do not have an account or any students currently enrolled, you will need
to create a PowerSchool Enrollment Registration account to complete registration
requirements. *This is a PowerSchool Registration account, NOT a
PowerSchool Parent Portal account (*which is often used to check student grades, attendance and registration for returning students). Click HERE to create an account. Please

- Students who are currently enrolled in Pre-K at Cook, Fairview, Franklin, Sale
and Stokes Elementary Schools will register as returning students for
kindergarten once the Returning Student registration period has opened.
