2022-2023 Elementary Lottery

The lottery opens April 4, 2022 at 8 AM and closes May 24, 2022 at 5 PM.

Elementary Lottery - Who Should Apply?

  • Elementary students new to CMSD (transferring from other districts)
  • New students who will be in kindergarten for the 2022-2023 school year
  • Current elementary students wishing to make a change in their school assignment

Pre-Kindergarten Registration

Students must be FOUR years old on or before September 1, 2022 to be eligible for the Pre-Kindergarten Program. After completing the required application, parents or legal guardians who wish to enroll their child in the Pre-Kindergarten Program must complete the questionnaire in-person by noon April 25, 2022. It can be completed at Brandon Central Services Center (BCSC) Monday-Friday 8 AM to 4 PM.

BCSC Pre-K Testing will be on ONE of the following dates:

  • 5/3/2022 - 4 PM to 6:30 PM
  • 5/4/2022 - 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM
  • 5/5/2022 - 4 PM to 6:30 PM
  • 5/6/2022 - 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM
You will be contacted to schedule a date and time for your appointment after completion of the questionnaire. 



Registration for the current school year closes on May 24, 2022.

If you are registering for Pre-K - 5,

  • Create a SchoolMint Account
  • Select NEW STUDENT
  • Rank the 5 elementary magnet schools in order of preference. To view information regarding our elementary schools please visit the Magnet School Choice page.
  • Receive placement notification through your email account or a text message on your cell phone
  • Log back in to SchoolMint to complete the registration process

If you are registering for 6 - 12,

  • Create a SchoolMint Account
  • Select NEW STUDENT
  • Complete the online forms

Two proofs of residency are required. See the bottom of this page for acceptable documents. All students new to the district are required to provide their Birth Certificate, Shot Record, Withdrawal form from the previous school (if applicable), and last Report Card (if applicable).


If a returning student lives at the same address as last school year, only the current utility bill will be required for proof of residency.

Please use the same SchoolMint user account that you used during last year's registration process. If you forgot your username or password, please contact SchoolMint Support at 1 (855) 957-3535.


  • To attend the first week of school, registration must be complete by 8/4 at 3 PM. If you register after 8/4 at 3 PM, the student will miss the first day of school.
  • After completing online forms in SchoolMint, you may be contacted to verify information.
  • CMSD will be back to traditional in-person learning for the 2021-2022 school year.
  • The district strongly recommends using an email account as your SchoolMint username. If you do not have an email account, create a free one at
  • If you cannot complete registration online, in-person registration help will be provided from 7/19 - 7/30 at the student's school.
