United Way Classroom VIP (Volunteer Impact Partners)
Columbus, MS, August 29, 2016– United Way is partnering with the Columbus Municipal School District and seeking individuals (100) interested in becoming classroom VIPs! Your role will be to assist students with academic needs, reflect the qualities of a positive role model, provide emotional support and assist in developing basic learning skills.
You will be able to select any class K-5 in Fairview, Franklin, Joe Cook, Sales, or Stokes Beard Elementary.

We are looking for individuals that can volunteer 1 to 5 days per week for 4 to 20 hours per week. (Mornings).
“One of the top priorities of United Way of Lowndes County is alignment of resources to provide support for Childhood Success in Education,” said Danny Avery, Executive Director.
Volunteers must be at least 40 years of age. Additionally, the following are required: Background check (provided by the CMSD), physical exam letter (from doctor), attend orientation (provided by UW & CMSD), and signed letter of confidentiality (provided by CMSD).
