Special Services

We have many Special Services to help each individual
student achieve his highest potential physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially. We try to do this in several ways.
Helping the student feel at home in our school (with new teachers, friends, and settings)

Individual conferences whenever a parent or teacher deems it necessary.

An assessment program designed to help the parents and teachers learn as much as possible about the students' capabilities and performances

A guidance program that assists students individually, and in small and large groups

A drug awareness educational program

A home-school program that works to communicate the needs of the child to the parents

The Family Resource Center supports and promotes the educational needs of our students and their families

Intervention
Programs

A Guidance Counselor is here to assist student with behavioral needs and some basic skills, along with serving as another home-school link.

Speech language services include diagnosis and individual and/or group therapy to students with special needs in the areas of articulation, language, voice, or fluency.

The Special Education Program serves students with the following exceptionalities: Mental Retardation, Hearing Impairment, Traumatic Brain Injury, Developmental Delays, and Specific Learning Disabilities. The students are resourced. However, most academic subjects are taught in the special education classroom.
