I am excited to have been selected principal of such a productive, historic, learning environment. Students at Union are encouraged to seek out various learning opportunities through interactive learning techniques such as technology, games, and cooperative learning activities. Our staff works diligently in meeting the needs of each individual learner. They realize that all children can learn but they learn in different ways and at various rates. We believe in the philosophy that "no child will be left behind" regardless of his or her learning rates and styles. Students' learning needs are served on an individual basis. We use various assessments and techniques to determine the specific educational needs of each child. Our focus is to educate the whole child, not just academically, but socially as well by serving as positive role models to our students. We have an open and inviting atmosphere that encourages parents, friends, and community leaders to volunteer and visit our school on a regular basis.
