Caught in the Act is a positive behavior incentive and character education program based on 4R’s – Responsibility, Respect, Responsiveness, and Resourcefulness. This program teaches students the importance of having good character. Each month a new character trait is highlighted for students to learn about and exhibit throughout the building. Classroom teachers nominate students each month to receive a certificate of recognition. This certificate recognizes the student for going above and beyond to work on that month’s character trait. A copy of the certificate will be displayed at the school on the 4R Wall as designated by school personnel. The goals of the program is to have all students nominated for at least one 4R trait throughout the year.
Columbus Municipal School District (CMSD) understands the importance of rewarding and providing incentives to students for good behavior. Improving student behavior outcomes is about enabling students to be active participants in their choices. Caught in the Act is designed to catch our best doing their best!
