In an effort to increase student achievement, Stokes-Beard is one of two schools in the district implementing a Success Calendar. This nontraditional calendar affords students the opportunity to participate in additional learning opportunities at two different intervals during the school year - once during the fall semester and again during the spring semester. Because of this, the school year is extended by 18 days.


During Success Days, based on extensive data, students are assigned to either the Success Academy or the Enrichment Camp. Students needing extra assistance are assigned to the Success Academy. Students are assigned to math, reading (or language) classes based on their individual academic needs. Students assigned to the Enrichment Camp are those who are working on or above their designated grade level. Students in the Enrichment Camp participate in classroom activities and field trips intentionally designed to increase their critical thinking, reading, math, and writing skills.
