| In May 2009, McKellar students and teachers rode in the sleek, air conditioned, Falcon Pride Bus to Dauphin Island, Alabama for a fun filled day in the sun, sand and the ocean. Students swam, body surfed, built sand castles, combed the beach for shells and hermit crabs or just soaked up the sun. Lunch, snacks and an all you can eat pizza supper at CiCi's was provided for all. |  |

All advanced class (second year) students making 70 or above on the CPAS (state test) are invited to go on the trip. However, McKellar offers more than just a fun trip. Second year students are elligible for scholarships, college credit, job placement, and also learn valuable job skills while taking a rewarding and fun class at McKellar.
