| The Alabama Adventure Trip, May 2010, was a fun, exciting, thrill filled day at the Alabama theme park. McKellar students and teachers enjoyed unlimited rides ( if they were brave enough) on all attractions and were provided lunch and snacks. The trip was an exceptional substitute for the canceled Dauphin Island beach trip. The oil spill in the gulf put a damper on that idea. It will be a hard choice next year, wether to try again for fun in the sand and surf at Dauphin Island or repeat the thrill of the ride at the Alabama theme park. All advanced class (second year) students making 70 or above on the CPAS (state test) are invited to go on the trip. However, McKellar offers more than just a fun trip. Second year students are elligible for scholarships, college credit, job placement, and also learn valuable job skills while taking a rewarding and fun class at McKellar.
