Reading Renaissance
At Lee Middle School we are dedicated to improving reading comprehension and developing life-long readers. All students are encouraged to check out books, read every day and participate in the Reading Renaissance program.  Additionally, students who meet their assigned AR goals are recognized and rewarded by their team teachers. We encourage you as a family to share books together and motivate your student to spend a minimum 30 minutes reading for pleasure at home.

LMS owns over 4078 AR Quizzes. Books with quizzes are labled with colored dots on the spine. The book level and points are listed inside the cover. For a complete test list by grade level click on the face, by title click on the books.

Students select books in their ZPD range as determined by the STAR test results. Students are STAR tested 3 times each year. There is a direct relationship between reading practice and performance on the STAR test. Upon completion of the book, students take a computerized test and recieve points for successfully passing the tests. Student records are sent home with report cards and progress reports. Questions? Please call.
These are what the dots look like- the numbers represent the grade level of the book
