Michael Jackson Lee Middle School Choral Director

Michael Jackson is a graduate of Mississippi University for Women where he majored in vocal music and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music in May 2005. Michael received his Master of Arts in Teaching degree from Mississippi University for Women in August 2008. A trained Baritone; He studied classical voice under Dr. Bruce Lesley for one year and under Dr. Cherry Dunn for three years. Michael has also had piano studies with Mr. James Allen and piano/organ studies with Mrs. Kathy Anderson. Michael has sung in many choral and gospel groups including MUW Chorale and Male Ensemble. Michael has been feature soloist, recitalist, workshop conductor, judge for the 2005 UPN-MS “Search for a Superstar”, and vocal clinician in various classical and gospel venues.
In addition to serving as Choral Director and Technology Faciltator at Lee Middle School, Michael is the Yearbook Advisor, W-LMS Audiovisual Productions Advisor, LMS and CMSD Athletics Web Manager. Michael has served as Youth Choir Pianist and Mass Choir Director for the New Zion Pilgrim Church for three years, Minister of Music at Mt. Avery Baptist Church for one year, and Minister of Music at Stephen Chapel Church in Columbus, MS for two years. He is also the owner and operator of M.J.’s Desktop Publishing & Designs. |
