Mrs. Cindy Wamble, Principal

Mrs. Cindy Wamble has 22 years teaching experience, and 5 years as an Assistant Principal of Curriculum and Instruction. This is her third year to serve as Principal of Columbus Middle School. She holds a Bachelors degree in English Education from Ole Miss and a Master's Degree in Instructional Management from Mississippi University for Women.  She was named District Administrator of the Year for the 2006-2007 school year. She has been married for 29 years to Jim Wamble and they have two sons. She is committed to increasing student achievement and making Columbus Middle School the best place to learn.
 

Mrs. Freda Dismukes

Assistant Principal, 6th Grade

2011-2012

Mrs. Dismukes has four and a half years of classroom experience and this is her fourth year to serve as an Assistant Principal. She holds a Bachelors degree in Business from Mississippi University for Women, a Master’s Degree in Special Education from The University of Alabama, and a Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from Mississippi State University. She was name District Teacher of the Year for the 2006-2007 school year. She is married to Leonardo Dismukes, Sr., and they have two sons, David and Leonardo, II. She enjoys working in the community by mentoring children. She is committed to increasing parental involvement as well as working on letting the community know that Columbus Middle School is a great place to learn.

Mr. Henry Howard

Assistant Principal, 8th Grade

2011-2012

 I have been blessed with the opportunity to serve as assistant principal here at CMS! Educating young minds is one of the most rewarding jobs a person can have, and I feel extremely privileged to work with some of the best in Mississippi at doing that job. I believe in the power of the mind, and I believe that power can be thoroughly tapped through the exposure of the arts coupled with a rigorous curriculum taught by dedicated teachers. I believe that every student can learn and deserves to have the best opportunity to be successful in a surrounding that is conducive to optimal learning.

I have five years experience in the classroom and this year will be my fifth year as an administrator in the CMSD family. I received my Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education from Mississippi State University and my Masters of Science in Educational Leadership from Delta State University. My wife Paula and I have four children, Jesslyn, Merrie Kate, Kerrie, and Jackson.

 

Mrs. Kimberly Wright

Assistant Principal, 6th Grade

Mrs. Kimberly Wright served as a classroom teacher for 5 years, and this is her 4th year to serve as an assistant principal. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from the Mississippi University for Women, as well as, a Master of Science degree in Educational Leadership from Mississippi State University. She and her husband, Marcus Wright, have two sons. She is excited to be apart of Columbus Middle School and committed to ensuring the success of every student.
