Community Recyling Program

Why Should We Recycle?

  • U.S. Residents and businesses generate 4.4 pounds of waste per person per day
  • Every day American businesses generate enough paper to circle Earth 20 times!
  • Each ton of recycled paper can save 17 trees, 380 gallons of oil, 3 cubic yards of landfill space, 4,000 kilowatts of energy, and 7,000 gallons of water.
  • Each year, Americans throw away 25 trillion Styrofoam cups.
  • Recycling conserves our valuable natural resurces.
  • Recycling saves landfill space. Garbage in landfill space is tightly packed and covered, thus preventing quick decomposition.
  • Recycling saves clean air and clean water.
  • Recycling saves energy. The energy saved from recycling one aluminum can will run your TV for 3 hours.

    Cook will be recycling:

  • Mixed office paper
  • Newspapers
  • Magazines
  • Cardboard
  • Plastics (1-7)
  • Cans (aluminum and tin)
  • Glass

There is a large recycling container on our campus for the entire community to use!

Please note: Newspapers, cans, and plastics that are to be put into the recycing container must be placed into plastic bag and tied before being put into the marked bin!

All cardboard boxes MUST be flattened before being placed into the bin!

Mixed office paper (white paper) will be recycled inside the school building.
