Mrs. Lois Kappler, principal - kapplerl@columbus.k12.ms.us

I am very proud to be the principal of Cook Elementary and to introduce our new fine arts to everyone. The arts are much more than just "extra" activities for children. Partcipation in an arts focused school allows children to express themselves creatively, develop goal setting, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills and build an appreciation for differing points of views.

A very wide range of exposure to movement, theatre, visual art, and music will enhance our students' education and opportunities to involve parents, community members, and business partners in the lives of the students.

Our desire as educators is to expose children to the best the world has to offer. Providing our children with a broadened education, which includes the arts, has been proven to not only have an impact on what children learn but how they learn. Join us as we work toward student success.

Please come and visit our school, call or email, if you have any questions or concerns. I am proud of the Cook Team, I am always eager to give a tour.

Mrs. Kimberly Gardner, assistant principal -gardnerk@columbus.k12.ms.us

I am so blessed and excited to be serving as the assistant principal here at Cook Elementary. This is my seventh year to be employed with the Columbus Municipal School District in elementary education . I have enjoyed every minute of it.

I handle the school curriculum. My true passion is the curriculum for our students. I work closely with our teachers to make sure all resources are used and students receive a quality education. I want our students to have the solid foundation needed for a life time of education.

As I serve each day, I am reminded of the fact that I will only accept what is in the best interest of all children. Therefore, I will only administer what's in the best interest for each and everyone of Cook's students.

If you ever feel the need to contact me please don't hesitate. I am available to my students, teachers as well as parents.
