Counseling Services

Counseling Services are available to all students at Cook Elementary School. The Counseling Program includes the following:
* Infuse the Arts into individual and group counseling sessions
*Use drama in character education related themes and present skits to parents, students and   community members throughout the year.
* Make referrals to local community agencies.
* Provide academic assistance through the Student Support Team intervention process.
* Build and reinforce proper audience and performance etiquette.
* Promote mental health awareness and healthy lifestyles.
* Support faculty, staff, and administrators.
* Support students and families with special needs.
* Implement and supervise the Character Education Program.
* Promote school-wide programs and activities.
* Promote community awareness.
* Implement individual behavior plans to include consequences and rewards.

The counseling program at Cook is designed to fit the needs of each individual child and each classroom as a whole. It is preventive in nature and is based on ensuring each child grows substantially during each school year academically, socially and personally. There is a great emphasis on character education and teaching of common values. We take pride in becoming Cook Cool Kids and promote positive behavior in all phases of our curriculum.
