Favorite Black Authors and Books
Library Guidelines-The library will be open Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM until 3:00 PM.
-No student will be allowed to come to the library during a class period without a pass from a teacher or an administrator.
A teacher should send no more than 2 students at a time from his/her class to the library without accompanying them.
-A student can come to the library during his/her lunchtime only if they have a pass from one of the librarians, a teacher,
or an administrator.
-A daily record will be maintained of students entering and leaving the library. Teachers and administrators can refer
to this record if there are questions regarding a student's whereabouts.
-Teachers are encouraged to bring their classes to the library. To do so, the library must be reserved in advance so
that adequate preparation an be made for the classes.
-Students can check out books for a two-week period. If additional time is needed, students can renew the books (unless they are needed by another person) for additional two weeks. -Students with overdue books will be fined 5 cents per day, per book. -Students and teachers are responsible for replacing lost or damaged books or other materials that they check out from the CHS Library. -Computers are for educational use only. No games, chatting, or message boards are allowed. -Computer printouts are available. The price is 25 cents per page for color printouts and 10 cents per page for black and white printouts.

MAGNOLIA is a statwide consortium that is funded by the Mississippi Legislature.Begun in 1997, it provides online databases for publicly funded K-12 schools, public libraries,
community college libraries, and university libraries in Mississippi. It also provides lesson plans
for public school teachers using the MAGNOLIA databases.
In addition to searching the databases in libraries, you can also access many of the electronicresources, including encyclopedias, science and English references, and periodicals, through
MAGNOLIA from your home computer.

Learn-a-Test
Learn-a-Test is a free source for test preparation materials and interactive practice examsbased on official tests. Timed tests include immediate scoring, complete answer explanations,
and individualized analyses of results.
Learn-a-Test also provides advanced placement exams in biology, calculus, chemistry,English composition and many more subjects!
You can access Learn-a-Test at home, school, or at the public library. Here's how you register:
1. Go to: www.LearningExpressLibrary.com
2. Under "Please Sign In" click on "New User".
3. Create a User Name and password. The User name must be 066 plus your local tel. number.
4. Then choose a password. The password is your choice. Verify this password and then click "Continue".
5. A screen will appear asking you "To which Library Do You Belong?" Pick the Lowndes County PublicLibrary and the click "Update".
6. When the next screen appears showing theat registration has been competed, click "Continue"to see a list of available tests.
After registering for Learn-a-Test the first time, the next time you use "previous user" rather than"new user". Then go to the list of available tests and choose the one that you want to take.
(If you choose the ACT and you worked on it at a previous chick-in time, it will pick up where you left off.)
