 Welcome to Fairview Aerospace & Science Magnet Elementary School! Our mission is to provide a quality education to every child in a loving and nurturing environment. Our students are exposed to activities that encourage science discovery, problem-solving, and innovative experiences based on the state and national curriculum standards. Our regular school day begins at 7:45 and ends at 2:25.

Our Jump rope for Heart fundraiser begins the 20th and runs through Feb. 10th. We hope to make this our best year ever! Collection envelopes will be sent home Friday after our kick-off assembly.

Our PTA fundraiser begins the 27th and also runs through Feb. 10th. Help your child sell as many cups as possible. Deadline for this is also Feb. 10th

2012 Lottery Information

The 2012-2013 Magnet School Lottery is open at this time with a deadline of  Friday, February 3, 2012 - 4:00 PM.  

** New for the 2012-2013 school year is that all five elementary schools will have Pre-Kindergarten. Any child that resides within CMSD**and will be four years old on or before September 1, 2012 is eligible to apply for one of these seats. In addition, students who will be five years old by September 1, 2012 will attend  Kindergarten classes and they also need to submit a lottery application.  

It is very important to be a part of this first lottery in order to secure a seat at a school of your choice.   **Children of CMSD staff that live outside of district boundaries are eligible to participate in the lottery with board approval.   Lottery applications can be submitted at Brandon Central Office ( 7:30am - 4:00pm)

Parents of students currently assigned to a school (Pre-K - fourth)and are satisfied with their placement DO NOT need to submit a lottery application.

Parents of students who want to apply for a different Magnet School for next year MUST complete a lottery application. These applications MUST be received by February 3, 2012. Any application submitted after the first lottery will NOT be considered and the student will be reassigned to their current school.

Pre-K students will automatically have a seat at his/her current Magnet School next year, unless the parent wants the child assigned to another elementary school. If this is the case, the parent MUST complete a lottery application by February 3, 2012.

Jan. 31st - Lowndes County Spelling Bee @ CMS 9:00AM (good luck Ariel Lyons and DeArius Jefferson)

Feb. 2nd - Spring and class pictures

Feb. 6th - Progress reports

Feb. 20th - President's day (student holiday)
